THE police on Monday advised the public not to leave their valuables exposed in vehicles following two separate thefts that took place over the weekend.

The first theft happened at the multi-storey carpark near Block 462A, Clementi Avenue 3.

The driver,a man in his 40s, parked his van there at about 6pm on Saturday.

When he returned at noon the next day, he found the door on the driver's side unlocked.

Several items such as a $200 pair of sunglasses and a mobile phone battery and charger worth $70 were missing.

Later at 6.45pm on Sunday, a man parked his car at the open-space carpark at Block 466, Crawford Street and left for dinner.

When he returned an hour later, the driver's side rear windscreen was smashed.

A bag - containing a $1,400 laptop and $600 digital camera - placed at the rear seat was stolen.

Anyone with information on the two cases can call 1800-255-0000.
