See what see?

If you live in the east and found yourself in a big jam while on the way home via the East Coast Parkway (ECP), you were probably stuck in the middle of the most dramatic event of 2008 thus far.

A bespectacled woman in her early 50s had perched herself on the railing along Benjamin Sheares Bridge, while the police attempted to convince her to leave her precarious seat.

NO TV COVERAGE? NO PROBLEM

Media-savvy motorists whipped out mobile phones to capture live images which they promptly sent to Stomp.

Others just slowed their cars down to gawk.

One motorcyclist interviewed by the New Paper even stopped by the side of the road to watch.

For over two hours - at peak-hour traffic conditions.

The result: A massive jam that lasted till about 8.30pm, despite the woman finally backing down at 7.55pm.

'PAY' TO WATCH

The woman was eventually arrested for 'attempted suicide', where the maximum penalty is a year's jail, a fine, or both

Maybe motorists who slow down to watch should also be similarly punished.
