Give licences only to safe cabbies

IN RESPONSE to "No job, no shelter, no family" (The New Paper, Nov 26), I have to say that some taxi drivers should not have their licences renewed at all.

I have encountered many unprofessional drivers who were speeding as though they were F1 drivers. They did not give a hoot about their passengers' safety.

I recommend all taxi companies to employ inspectors to check on their drivers' professionalism, and to check if their drivers are healthy and safe enough to have their licences renewed.

Having errant and dangerous taxi drivers on the road is definitely a disservice to all passengers.
