I AM an American expat living near Pasir Panjang Village. Over the course of the year, I have driven along South Buona Vista Road (from Pasir Panjang Road to Science Park I) every morning.
It is a very dangerous road and I am concerned that an accident is just waiting to happen. I seek the attention of the authorities to look into the traffic hazards there.
Firstly, at the start of the bend near Jalan Mat Jambol, there is a traffic sign that states no lorries are allowed on the road. But every day there are lorries of various sizes weaving slowly along the road, often driving onto the other lane around bends. This results in long queues of cars behind them.
Secondly, there are public buses that travel along the road and drop off passengers at bus stops, who, in turn, cross the road in front of cars.
Thirdly, there are, from time to time in the mornings, cyclists riding along there. This is very dangerous as it is not a wide road and cars travelling in one direction often drive onto the opposite lane.
The authorities should act immediately to stop lorries from travelling along the road.
There should also be a solution for cyclists riding along the narrow winding road.
