'You had to wake me up on a Sunday morning for this?'

Picture this: In the middle of a tranquil Sunday, car horns suddenly filled the air. Residents who were woken up by the horns thought they were the sounds of an accident.

But no. They were only honkings from wedding cars.

One resident from Petir Road wrote in to Stomp recently to highlight such a case.

The reader said four wedding cars "arrived as loud as they could be" at the carpark between Block 219 and Block 220 at Petir Road."

"At around 7.40am, the four cars announced their arrivals by honking all the way from Cashew Road to the carpark," the reader told Stomp.

The reader pointed out, "The red sports car had its engine turned on...to create a noise that sounded like a gas explosion."

Exclamations such as "People sleeping lah!" and "You had to wake us up for this?" were heard, the reader added.

But these drivers apparently turned a deaf ear to the residents' complaints as they circled the carpark a few more times before they left.

The bridegroom struck a few poses with the cars before leaving to pick up his bride.

But when the residents thought they could could go back to sleep, another round of honking begun.

This time, it came from a lone car which needed to leave the carpark but was blocked by the wedding convoy.

Annoyed residents continued to make nasty remarks while the drivers came down to park their cars properly into parking lots.

One resident remarked, "At least something good came out of it."

The resident said, "I overslept, good thing they came to wake me up."
