Road conditions on KPE need improving

I WOULD like to highlight some issues regarding road conditions on the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE).

I travel on the KPE very often and I've noticed that the road seems rather bumpy in every lane.

Was this done on purpose to slow down traffic? If not, it would be appreciated if the authorities could smoothen the road to facilitate a comfortable drive.

Also, the kerb on both sides of the tunnel blends in with the grey road because of its concrete colour. This makes it difficult for motorists to see the kerb clearly, especially at night. Can the kerb be painted with a colour that is in contrast to the grey road and white wall? This way, drivers can easily determine the width of the road, especially around corners.

Meanwhile, the increasing prevalence of bigger and taller vehicles, coupled with the low-hanging branches of trees planted along the KPE, makes it difficult for drivers to see road signs located on the left side of the road. By the time a driver spots a sign, it is usually too late for him to switch lanes to exit the expressway.

Could the authorities raise the level of road signs to make them easier to spot?

Lastly, it appears that many road signs are made with only Singaporeans in mind. For example, the Marine Parade exit in the ECP actually leads to Still Road and not Marine Parade. Only people who are familiar with the area would know that it is commonly known as Marine Parade.

With more foreigners coming to live in Singapore, the authorities should install road signs that are more precise and driver-friendly.
