Regular action taken against vehicles parked on service roads

my paper
I REFER to the letter, "Clamp down on service-road hogs" (mypaper, Sept 30) from Mr Jason Chen.
We are aware of the illegal parking problem at service roads and have been taking regular enforcement action against vehicles found parked illegally on these roads.
For the past year, a total of 99,000 parking-offence notices were issued for illegal parking on service roads.
As mentioned by Mr Chen, motorists are to keep clear of service roads as it is the only access route for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire engines, and rubbish trucks.
Members of the public who wish to report illegal parking along service roads can contact our 24-hour Carpark Enforcement toll-free hotline on 1800-272-1409.
We will continue with our strict enforcement action to ensure road safety for all.
