Only one charge for iris NextBus
Mon, Nov 24, 2008
my paper

I REFER to the letter, "Confusion over charge for iris NextBus SMS" (my paper, Nov 21).

SBS Transit is sorry to learn about the confusion that Ms Lim Meow Ling faced when she was given different replies to her queries about the cost of this service.

SBS Transit wishes to clarify that it does not charge for the service, but that the telcos do impose a 5-cent charge for each SMS that is sent or received, unless the user has free SMSes bundled in his/her mobile plan.

If the free SMS quota is reached, telcos will charge for subsequent SMSes that are sent or received.

We are contacting Ms Lim for more details so that we can help her look into the matter.
