The New Paper
He wants to get you racing too

HE WANTS you to see how easy and fun riding a motorbike can be.

That's why Dirt Wheel Motor boss Ong Kim Hua is offering you a chance to win a brand new Derbi Terra Adventure 125 motorbike with top-of-the-line accessories - through The New Paper Auction.

Mr Ong knows what he is talking about. After all, he takes part in various races at least five to eight times a year.

Said Mr Ong: 'When you race off-road, you're battling natural terrain too.

'It's a kind of challenge and exhilaration that you can't get with any other sport.'

Dirt Wheel Motor was born out of Mr Ong's passion for motorbike racing. It started out as a motorbike workshop in 1988, but grew to become a full-fledged distributor of motorbikes.

On display at his Tampines Street 93 shop are the KTM and Derbi bikes he imports.

KTM, one of the biggest motorbike makers in Europe, is known for their off-road machines.

Derbi's bikes may be new to bikers here, but the Spanish small-bike specialist has been around since 1922.

Now part of the Piaggio Group, they have been making a name for themselves in the 125cc class of the MotoGP.

If you're looking to buy a KTM or Derbi bike, check them out at dealers Albert Motor at Blk 1008 Bukit Merah Lane 3 and S.1 Motoring at Blk 3006 Ubi Road 1.

Dirt Wheel Motor also offers one-on-one recreational motorbiking coaching for both the seasoned racer and novice rider. The company has taught beginners as young as six years old.

'As long as you can ride a bicycle,' said Mr Ong, 'I can have you riding a motorbike in 10 minutes.'

In all, the Derbi Terra Adventure 125 and accessories come up to more than $16,000. Accessories include Hepco and Becker panniers and AVG helmets.

To bid for the bike and bundled accessories, you have till 5 Jul to cut out and collect The New Paper Dollars (TNP$) which appear on the front page every day.

Simply SMS your bid to 79777 in this format: 'TNPE1Bid AmountFull NameNRIC.'

Visit www.asiaone.com/tnpdollars to see how the bids are going.

The highest bid wins, but remember, you must back up your bids with actual TNP$.
