Recently, the ABS and ASC warning lights in my 1999 BMW 318i came on, accompanied by a loud buzzing sound from the engine bay. What is causing this problem?

It sounds like the car has got either a seized anti-lock braking system pump or the valve solenoid is operating continuously. This can be due to a problem with the ABS module itself or the computer controlling it. Either way, you need to take your car to a workshop or the BMW dealer.
