Stop motorcycles from using pavements
Tue, Jun 30, 2009
my paper

RECENTLY, I observed more motorcyclists travelling on pavements and in Housing Board void decks.

The culprits are often fast-food delivery staff. They speed on pavements without regard for pedestrians' safety.

Another common culprit is the postman. Once, I was walking out of the lift in my block when a postal scooter whizzed past me at high speed. Had I not been alert to the sound of its engine, I would have been knocked down.

I urge the authorities to take stronger steps to curb this menace.
