SEPANG, MALAYSIA: Although she missed most of the race, local songstress Camelia still felt the excitement that the F1 Grand Prix is known for.

The cheering fans and helicopters hovering over the circuit more than made up for her being late.
Camelia: "It's great to be part of this every year."

"It is great to be part of this every year. With the fans cheering and the helicopters," she said when met after the race.

Camelia, who came to cheer for her favourite driver Lewis Hamilton and to have a good time with her friends, arrived just before a downpour that stopped the race.

"I wished I could have seen more of the race," she said, adding that the massive traffic jam coming into the Sepang International Circuit made her arrive late.

The singer later lend support to her friends Atilia and the band Malik and the Essentials who were the opening acts for English band Jamiroquai.

AirAsia founder and CEO Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes, who was spotted taking photographs with fans of his own, said he had expected Nico Rosberg to score a podium finish.

"In the first 15-16, we were in second. We felt he had a good chance for a podium finish," he said, adding however the rain had ruined it.

But he said it was a good day and he was happy with the good exposure that the Williams team had given AirAsia, the team's sponsor.

"The car was very competitive and we are proud of the team," he said.

Fernandes also said that the airline would consider becoming the team's official flyer once they had sufficient planes to do so.
