Fast Lane: Peugeot power

The BMW 1-series may not be available here, but here's a chance to experience some Bavarian magic - in a Peugeot. The Peugeot 207 GTi, also known as the RC is due here in the second quarter of the year. It will boast a 1.6-litre high-pressure turbo direct-injection engine co-developed with BMW.

The three-door hot hatch, a spiritual successor to the iconic 205 GTi, will have 175bhp at its disposal and 240Nm of torque from just 1,600rpm.
