Fast Lane: Modus operandi

Renault has brought in a few units of its mini Modus hatchback. You may have seen them - they wear the blue-and-yellow number plate that 'research' cars get. Such cars are accorded substantial tax breaks. The Moduses here have diesel engines mated to clutch-actuated semi-autos. Renault Asia Pacific says the cars are under tropical testing here.
