Diversified German company C Melchers, which recently set up a unit here to convert petrol cars to run on compressed natural gas, has converted a maiden fleet of five cars, including a Ford Mondeo and a Ssangyong Rexton sports-utility vehicle.

It says 15 more cars are lined up for conversion in the coming weeks, including a Ssangyong Chairman, Fiat Doblo and Toyota Corolla Altis. Another 20 cars will follow suit.
