COE prices up for all categories in April's bids

COE prices in April's second bidding exercise have risen for all categories yet again. The COE bidding exercise this time attracted a total of 8,229 bids received, with only 5,313 were successful.

Category A COEs for vehicles below 1,600cc and taxis pulled in the most bids. This cateogory received a total of 3, 327 bids, of which 2,168 were successful. Prices went up by about $600 to $14, 601.

The category which saw the biggest leap in prices was Category C (goods vehicles and buses). Prices more than doubled, jumping from $2,600 to $5,289.

For category B (cars above 1600cc), prices rose from $14, 889 to $15, 989, marking a 7 per cent increase.

COE prices for category D (motorcycles) also rose by about 17per cent, reaching $1,184.

The open category, which is for vehicles of any kind, saw a remarkable rise in prices, going up by $786, from $15,315 to $16,101.
