Fastlane: Valvematic beats VVT-i

TOYOTA engines are set to become more efficient with the debut of Valvematic, a mechanism combining VVT-i (variable valve timing-intelligent), which controls the timing of intake valve opening/closing, with a new mechanism that can also control the intake valve lift volume.

Valvematic will appear first in a new 2-litre engine, which will be up to 10 per cent more frugal and yet more powerful.
