MAGNY-COURS, France, June 30 (Reuters) - Brazilian Felipe Massa put Ferrari on pole position for the French Grand Prix on Saturday.

McLaren's Formula One world championship leader Lewis Hamilton joined him on the front row, with Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen starting in third place.

Hamilton's team mate and double world champion Fernando Alonso qualified 10th after failing to set a time in the final session as mechanics worked on his car.

The pole position, with a lap 0.070 seconds faster than Hamilton's best, was Massa's fourth of the season and seventh of his career.
