Motorist who drove with man on bonnet charged

A MOTORIST who allegedly continued driving his car even when another man was
clinging on its bonnet now faces the prospect of up to six months in jail.

Philip Yeo Chuan Lock, 62, was brought before a district court yesterday to
face a charge of endangering the life of sales executive Koh Boon Tai.

Yeo, who did not show any emotion when the charge was read out to him, was said
to have been behind the wheel when Mr Koh was on the bonnet of the car on
Thursday afternoon at about 1pm.

He is now out on $5,000 bail and is expected to be back in court two weeks
later.

The incident happened along East Coast Road.
Yeo allegedly drove in such a rash manner with Mr Koh on the bonnet that the
sales executive suffered cuts on his chin after falling off.

Mr Koh, 36, was getting back to his car at a carpark in Joo Chiat when he saw a
man scratch his car.

When the man went into his black Nissan Cefiro which was parked just behind his
Toyota Wish, Mr Koh tapped on the Nissan?s bonnet to get the driver?s
attention.

However, when the car moved out of the lot, Mr Koh fell onto the bonnet and
clung on to it to stop himself from falling off.

However, the Nissan did not stop and continued moving for some 200m before Mr
Koh fell off the car.

He made a report to the police and the culprit was arrested on Friday
afternoon.
