WINS

The top four drivers in the championship -- McLaren's Lewis Hamilton, team mate Fernando Alonso, Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa -- have all won two races each so far this season.

Raikkonen's win in France last weekend was the 11th of his career.

It was also Ferrari's 196th victory (from 749 races since 1950) and 73rd one-two. Their last previous one-two was in Germany last July.

McLaren have won 152 races, Williams 113 and Renault 33.

HAMILTON

Third place in the French Grand Prix gave championship leader Hamilton his eighth podium finish in a row, unprecedented for a rookie driver.

Only one Briton has previously racked up eight successive podium finishes -- the late Jim Clark with nine in 1963.

However Magny-Cours was also the first grand prix that 22-year-old Hamilton had not led, and he was overtaken for the first time as well.

Hamilton is the first rookie race winner since Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya with Williams in 2001. He is also the first black driver to win a grand prix.

POINTS

Briton Jenson Button's eighth place at Magny-Cours handed Honda their first point of the season.

BRITAIN

Four British drivers will be on Sunday's starting grid,. The last Briton to win at Silverstone was David Coulthard with McLaren in 2000.

WINNERS

Alonso won last year for Renault.

Only one driver, France's four times world champion Alain Prost with McLaren in 1989 and Ferrari in 1990, has won the British Grand Prix for two years in a row with different teams.

Canadian Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion with Williams, is the only driver to have won at Silverstone in his rookie season (excluding Giuseppe Farina in the inaugural 1950 championship).

Alonso, Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and Coulthard are the only still-active drivers to have won previously in Britain.

MILESTONES

This year's British Grand Prix marks the 30th anniversary of the late Canadian Gilles Villeneuve's Formula One debut at Silverstone with McLaren in 1977.

It is also the 30th anniversary of Renault's debut in Formula One at the same circuit with a turbocharged car nicknamed 'The Yellow Teapot'.
