ROME, Aug 10 (Reuters) - French driver Sebastien Bourdais will replace Italian Vitantonio Liuzzi at Toro Rosso next season, the Italy-based Formula One team said on Friday.

Toro Rosso, yet to score a point this year, had already begun an overhaul by bringing in Germany's Sebastian Vettel for American Scott Speed before last weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Speed, who fell out with team bosses after the last European Grand Prix at the Nuerburgring, had accused the team of wanting to get rid of him and Liuzzi.

Toro Rosso, the sister team of Red Bull, announced Bourdais's arrival on their Web site (www.redbullf1.com).

Three-times Champ Car series champion Bourdais has tested three times for Toro Rosso this year and will join the team after this season's Champ Car series ends on Dec. 2.
