Man crashes 'borrowed' Porsche, killing friend

IT was a joyride that turned to tragedy in Kuala Lumpur.

A foreman at a car workshop took a Porsche that had been sent there to be serviced for a spin with two friends, reported Malaysian papers.

At about 12.30am on Wednesday, the 22-year-old lost control of the vehicle at an underpass in Jalan Tun Razak.

The car crashed into a road barrier, then into a wall, smashing the rear of the car, reported Guang Ming Daily.

The back seat passenger, Mr Chong Wai Hon, 23, died on the spot of severe head injuries.

The driver and the front seat passenger who is an undergraduate, suffered head injuries.

All three victims were trapped inside the wreckage before they were pulled out by passing motorists.

STABLE CONDITION

The two survivors were sent to hospital, where they are now in stable condition.

In another accident also involving a luxury car, three men were killed after their Mercedes S350 careened into a billboard and a tree, before crashing into the security post of a condominium.

The driver and a backseat passenger were limousine drivers, while the other two men were their friends.

The four were believed to have been on their way to return the Mercedes to the company headquarters after having breakfast when the accident happened.

The only survivor was the front seat passenger, who is in critical condition. China Press reported that fortunately, the two security guards happened to be away from the security post at the time of the crash.
