FORD has set a speed record on a fuel-cell car. The Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999 reached 332kmh at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah, last week. The car was built in collaboration with Ballard Power Systems, Roush and Ohio State University. Ford is also supporting student engineers from Ohio State on its Buckeye Bullet 2, a streamliner-type fuel-cell racer attempting to reach 500kmh.
