PARF for imported used cars too
Sat, Aug 25, 2007
The New Paper

FROM 1 Sep, imported second-hand cars registered in Singapore will qualify for the Preferential Additional Registration Fee (PARF).

The PARF scheme, to encourage the timely replacement of old cars, is now applicable only to new cars. To enjoy the benefit, the car owner would have to de-register the imported used car before it reaches 10 years old from the date of its first registration in the foreign country.

Also from 1 Sep, car owners can use the PARF and Certificate of Entitlement (COE) rebates to offset the upfront taxes and fees, such as the registration fee or COE quota premium, when buying a new or imported used car.
