Fastlane: New Jag ready to pounce

JAGUAR has unveiled photos and information about its new XF (above), which is a stark contrast to the traditional S-Type that it replaces. The modern mid-sized sedan, looking like a derivative of the XK coupe, will have three petrol engines. The base model is powered by a 3-litre V6, while 4.2-litre V8s - supercharged or otherwise - are found in the others.

Six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifting, as well as the world's first rotary gear selector (looking like BMW's iDrive knob, it rises when the car is started), will be available. The XF should arrive here by the second quarter of next year.
