COEs for big cars and goods vehicle continue climb

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for big cars and goods vehicles continued climbing, while those for small & medium cars, motorcycles and the Open category fall marginally.

Category B COEs for cars with engine capacity greater than 1600cc will cost $19,589, an increase of $1,389 or 7.6 per cent.

COE prices for goods vehicles and taxis (Category C) also went up for the fourth consecutive round of bidding, registering a rise of 10% to end at $10,501.

Category A COEs (for cars 1600cc and below) held steady just below the $18K mark at $17,941, registering only a $58 drop.

Motorcycle COEs (Category D) registered the smallest change, with a $27 drop to end at $1,054.

Open Category COEs, which can be used for any class of vehicle, will now cost $19,199, a fall of $124.
