Fastlane: Dropheads going fast

AT LEAST two more people here have booked the $1.7-million Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe after seeing it in the metal at the launch on Wednesday, according to Mr Karsono Kwee, who owns the Rolls-Royce agency here. That brings sales here to eight, with first deliveries expected by year-end.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars regional director for Asia, Mr Colin Kelly (above left, with Mr Kwee), says the Asia-Pacific region so far accounts for 30 per cent of global Drophead sales, higher than the 20 per cent for overall Rolls-Royce sales. He says this year's production of 100 cars have been spoken for and next year's 200 are going fast.
