Cashless Carwash

NOW you can use your cashcard to pay for more than just parking fees. This carwash facility within the Caltex petrol station along Lorong Chuan has come up with a novel way to streamline its cash management system.

Motorists pay for their car wash at a POS (point of sale) terminal with their cashcards. The result - no cash or change required. An employee there said the cashless arrangement started about a month ago. Daily takings at the carwash are said to average $600. The amount is higher on weekends or whenever the weather is fine. The carwash is open every day from 9am to 9pm and a 'snow wash' costs $6 for a sedan and $7 for an MPV.
