>ON WEDNESDAY, two natural gas-powered cars in Singapore started on a 2,500km journey to Bangkok. They will be joined by three Malaysian CNG cars along the way.

Three other gas cars from Chuncheon, South Korea, are also on the way to the Thai capital. The odyssey is part of the Asia-Pacific NGV Association's aim to create 'green highways' in the region where gas vehicles can ply.

The two Singapore cars are a Toyota Vios (sponsored by Smart Automobile) and a Toyota Camry (sponsored by C Melchers GmbH.)
