'Hollywood-style' chase through S'pore streets

A CHASE ensued between nine police cars and a stolen ice truck on Wednesday morning, which one witness described as being akin to a 'Hollywood movie, but without helicopters'.

Police said they received a call at 11.25am that an unattended lorry along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 had been stolen.

The vehicle was spotted later along Hougang Avenue 4.

Several police cars gave chase through Sengkang, Hougang, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan estates.

The lorry driver finally stopped the vehicle at Sin Ming Drive and fled on foot.

The suspect, an Indian man in his 40s, was nabbed at a nearby workshop.

Police are investigating the incident.
