>FINALLY, BMW's brilliant 1 Series is expected to arrive in Singapore soon - some time next year. The smallest BMW available was launched in 2004 as a hatchback and has been available here as a parallel import. But now the range has widened to include a coupe and a convertible, BMW Asia has decided to officially import it.
It is understood that all three variants will be offered by dealer Performance Motors. Hints that the 1 Series was likely to debut here were dropped by BMW senior vice-president for central marketing and brand management Torsten Muller-Otvos when he visited Singapore in September. The 1 Series Coupe is said to be especially desirable because of the way it looks and handles. But if that's not enough, there will also be a souped up variant.
