Biker dead after Pasir Gudang race

HE purportedly performed a stunt after racing past the finish line, but the act caused a fellow Singaporean biker to lose his life.

On Sunday afternoon, just after an unofficial five-lap race at the Johor Circuit in Pasir Gudang, Mr Effendy Rahim had allegedly performed the stunt of lifting up his bike's rear wheels.

Mr Marcus Tan, who was behind him, reportedly smashed into his bike. He died of internal bleeding. On Monday, Mr Effendy and his father met the dead biker's family to say sorry. Father and son were tearful, with Mr Effendy calling his stunt a 'stupid act', The New Paper reported.

Those at the race that day said some bikers were showing off, and said officials should have flagged them off the tracks. - TNP
