Fastlane: 1-series to make official debut in Singapore
>AT LONG last, BMW has decided to import the 1-series to Singapore. The German carmaker's entry-level model was launched in 2004 but, still smarting from the failure of the Compact here in the mid-1990s, it hesitated to offer the car.

But now that the 1-series hatchback will have a coupe and convertible added to its range, BMW has decided that it is time to bring it to Singapore - as early as the third quarter of this year. Parallel importers have been selling limited units of the smallest Beemer since 2006. At current COE levels, the car is expected to retail for around $100,000.
