Extra lightweight Lotus
>GOT some spare change to spend on a circuit car that will stand out from the crowd on track day? At least two people in Singapore do. They have ordered the Lotus 2-Eleven. Based on the Lotus Elise road car, the 2-Eleven is a track-only version that has shed all the pounds in pursuit of race car performance. It has a 1.8-litre supercharged engine churning out 255 hp for a body that weighs in at only 745 kg. For driving enthusiasts, the power-to-weight ratio can only be described as breathtaking. The 2-Eleven also boasts a six-stage variable traction control as standard.

Authorised distributor EuroSports Auto says the cars are due to arrive later next month and they are for track use only. This means they cannot be registered for Singapore roads, unlike in the UK. But this also means registration taxes and COE are not required. As a result, final prices are expected to be about $170,000.
