>MERCEDES-Benz has given its classic SL roadster a facelift. The cosmetic changes are subtle, but the 'entry-level' SL350 gets a new high-revving engine that puts out 315hp and yet is less thirsty than its 245hp predecessor. As before, the SL will have V8 and V12 variants.
The improved SL will be fitted with a seven-speed automatic transmission with a clever 'blip' function that is activated during manual downshifts, giving it that sporty resonance found in the Audi TT. The new car should be here by July.
