Fastlane: VW unveils another self-parking car

>VOLKSWAGEN has unveiled its next self-parking technology: one that works with the driver outside the car. All he does is aim a remote control at the car and it reverses into a vertical lot all by itself. When it is done, it will wind up the windows, turn its engine off and lock the doors. The so-called Park Assist Vision is designed to overcome the problem of occupants getting out of a car in tight parking lots. VW's existing self-parking mechanism, already available in production models such as the Touran and Tiguan, requires the driver to stay in the car and apply the brakes if necessary.
