Team by team analysis of Canadian Grand Prix

MONTREAL, June 8 (Reuters) - Team by team analysis of Sunday's Canadian Formula One Grand Prix (listed in championship order):

FERRARI (Felipe Massa 5, Kimi Raikkonen retired)
Raikkonen was shunted out by McLaren's Hamilton when he stopped for a red light at the pit lane exit. Massa's hopes of a podium finish were wrecked by a problem with the refuelling rig during his first pitstop when a joint in the fuel line broke and no fuel went in, forcing him to come in again on the next lap.

BMW SAUBER (Robert Kubica 1, Nick Heidfeld 2)
Kubica started second and secured his and BMW Sauber's first win (in their 42nd race) as well as the first by a Polish driver. He now leads the driver's championship. Heidfeld started eighth and was on a one-stop strategy with a high fuel load.

MCLAREN (Heikki Kovalainen 9, Lewis Hamilton retired)
Hamilton led from pole position and then wrecked all his best efforts when he embarrassingly piled into Raikkonen in the pit lane while the Ferrari was stopped at the exit under a red light. He will be penalised 10 places at the next French GP. Kovalainen also had an afternoon to forget.

RED BULL (David Coulthard 3, Mark Webber 12)
Red Bull moved up to fourth place with their sixth successive points finish. Coulthard celebrated his 62nd career podium but first points of the season. The Scot was on a one-stop strategy while Webber was on two.

TOYOTA (Timo Glock 4, Jarno Trulli 6)
Glock led the race briefly and scored his first points for Toyota with the best result of his career so far. Trulli also led during his long first stint but had some brake troubles towards the end.

WILLIAMS (Nico Rosberg 10, Kazuki Nakajima retired)
Rosberg hit Hamilton's McLaren in the pit lane incident but was able to continue after pitting for a new front wing. He also had a puncture. Nakajima hit Button at the hairpin at two thirds distance and then went off trying to get back to the pits.

RENAULT (Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet retired)
Alonso went from fourth to fifth at the start but was chasing for a possible podium finish until he hit the wall 26 laps from the end. Brazilian Piquet retired just after the half distance with brake problem and has yet to score a point after seven races.

HONDA (Rubens Barrichello 7, Jenson Button 11)
Barrichello started ninth but led the race for seven laps ahead of his only pitstop on lap 36. Button started from the pit lane and was 20th after the opening lap.

TORO ROSSO (Sebastian Vettel 8, Sebastien Bourdais 13)
Vettel started in the pit lane after his mechanics worked through the night to rebuild the car following a crash in Saturday practice. He ran a one-stop strategy. Bourdais said it was his worst race weekend of his career.

FORCE INDIA (Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella retired)
Sutil was the first retirement of the race, pulling over on lap 13 with a gearbox problem. Fisichella stalled on his first pit stop on lap 30 and then spun out 20 laps from the end.

SUPER AGURI have withdrawn from the championship.
