Date of Issue: 4 July 2008

Temporary Realignment of Serangoon Road from 12 July 2008

1. A stretch of Serangoon Road starting from the traffic junction of Serangoon Road and Whampoa North will be split into two sections and temporarily realigned. This is part of several phases of temporary traffic diversions that have been planned to facilitate the construction of the road tunnels as part of the Woodsville Interchange upgrading project.

2. With the realignment, traffic will be segregated into two separate directions. Traffic moving towards PIE (Tuas) will have to keep to the left lanes of Serangoon Road and traffic towards Upper Serangoon Road and MacPherson Road will have to keep to the right lanes and travel along the realigned stretch of Serangoon Road.

3. The split and realignment of Serangoon Road will start from 12 July 2008 and will last for a period of about 3 years until the road tunnels are completed

4. Traffic signs will be put up ahead of the split and realignment to inform and guide motorists in advance so that they are able to decide on the lane of travel before reaching the junction.

5. The junction between Serangoon Road and Moonstone Lane will also be signalised to control traffic flow coming out from Moonstone Lane. The existing U-turn from Serangoon Road to Bendemeer Road will be removed.

6. Please refer to the attached map for more details of the diversion and realignment.

7. LTA will ensure that inconveniences to road users will be kept to a minimum. Should motorists have any queries, they can contact the LTA hotline at 1800-CALL LTA.
