Two passengers died and three others were injured in an accident involving a lorry and a bus along Tampines Expressway on Wednesday.

The bus was travelling on the left lane along TPE, going towards Changi Airport, when it veered onto the road shoulder and collided into the rear of the lorry, at about 10.30am.

The bus driver, who is in his late 20s, suffered pain in both knees, while the lorry driver, who is in his mid-50s, complained of chest pains.

Two passengers onboard the lorry - a woman in her late 50s and a man in his mid-30s - were found unconscious after the accident.

The other passenger, a man in his late 20s, suffered abrasions on his hands and face.

All five were rushed to the Changi General Hospital.

The two seriously injured passengers died in hospital shortly after.

Anyone with information can call the police on 1800-255-0000.
