Alfa Romeo and Fiat are the latest to pull out of the embattled show, which begins on Sept 26 at Suntec Singapore. Earlier, several established brands, including Toyota, Hyundai and Mazda, chose not to take part.

But the organisers, the Singapore Motor Traders Association (MTA), said the show will go on with participation from Honda, Subaru and Nissan.

The pullouts have called into question the long-term future of the event, which has been held biennially since 1992. Each show attracts 100,000 to 150,000 visitors.
