Car numbers continue to rise
>SINGAPORE'S car population continues to rise, although higher fuel prices, parking charges and road tolls were
expected to have put the brakes on growth.

According to the Land Transport Authority, there were 539,540 passenger cars here at end-July - 8.1 per cent more than at the same time last year.
