NOT even the massive logistics of the world's first Formula One night race in Singapore can faze its official logistics provider, DHL.
The well-known global express logistics company has served as Formula One's logistics partner for five seasons, and is confident that everything will run smoothly at next week's inaugural SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.
Said Mr Thomas Nieszner, chief executive officer of DHL (Europe): "Of course, being the first time that this race is being held, we are excited in anticipation of the event. But I'm sure we are well-prepared for the race."
Indeed, DHL has a vast network of personnel working throughout the year to ship Formula One equipment to all 18
races worldwide.
The scale is staggering: DHL transports 22 racing cars, 11 T-cars and an average of 44 engines. It also ships an average of 50 tonnes of television equipment per race.
Overall, it handles an average of 20,000 pieces of cargo per race.
Chances are that the equipment that was used for Sunday's Italian Grand Prix are already arriving in Singapore for the Sept 28 race.
