The Aussie is known for his preference to spend time with his car and mechanics instead of at parties. He entered F1 with the help of his countryman Paul Stoddart, the owner of Minardi. After surviving two flips in the Le-Mans 24 hours, he joined Minardi in 2002. He had an impressive debut race, finishing fifth. Three years later, in 2005, he signed for Williams. His stay there was a short one, lasting only until the end of the 2006 season. He has since been driving for Red Bull.
