All cab operators to drop fuel levy
Thu, Oct 30, 2008
The Straits Times

By Christopher Tan

TAXI giant ComfortDelGro will lift its 30-cent fuel surcharge on Nov 12, a day after small newcomer Trans-Cab does so.

The other operators - Smart Automobile, Premier Taxis, Prime Taxis and SMRT - have said they would follow suit.

As cab operators have to give the Public Transport Council two weeks' notice when they make changes to pricing, the earliest the contentious levy can be lifted all round is Nov 12.
