SINGAPORE: Audi's latest crossover Q5, the baby brother to Q7, has finally crossed the border - to Singapore - after its regional launch in Malaysia last month.
The new Q5 was launched in an "iceberg" floating at Marina at Keppel Bay, probably the first of its kind.
From today till May 3, the public are invited to visit the floating exhibition and test drive the crossover.
The "iceberg" contains an array of multimedia displays which you can twiddle to wrang out more information about the car.
"Boat Asia is the ideal platform for Audi to showcase our latest SUV," Mr Reinhold Carl, managing director of Audi Singapore said. He likened sailing as a sport that demands constant innovation from man and machine to the standard required to put on the four rings.
Audi's luxury market share in Singapore continues to climb. Mr Reinhold said, "In the first quarter of this year, it hit 11.8 per cent, which represents a quarter-on-quarter increase of 2.1 per cent."
"With the Audi Q5 and other models lined up for this year, I am confident that 2009 will be another good year for Audi Singapore."
To date, the Audi Q5 has sold more than 18,000 units. The Audi Q5 2.0 TSFI will be available at $167,400 with COE, while the 3.2 FSI variant will be priced at $195,600 with COE.
