Drunk driver arrested after crashing through carpark

SINGAPORE - Residents of Woodlands Drive 50 were shocked on Saturday night when an out-of-control car rammed into a parked motorbike at a multi-storey carpark of Block 897D around 8.30pm.

The car eventually came to a stop on a patch of grass after the driver's damaging swerve through the carpark, a reader told The New Paper in a hotline call.

Police said the driver was arrested on suspicions for drink driving and the case is under investigation.

According to an eyewitness quoted on citizen journalism website Stomp, the driver had attempted to flee the scene, but he was arrested with the help of passersby.

The car involved in the accident appeared to be a Hyundai Avante.
