Reckless drivers get Stomped

By Meredith Woo

SINGAPORE - A recent spate of road misadventures has got netizens worried about the apparent rise in the number of errant motorists in Singapore.

Over the past week, Stomp has received numerous stories and photos of botched turns, reckless driving and even encounters with road bullies.

The concerns come in the light of the fatal crash at the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street on May 12, in which a Ferrari allegedly ran a red light in the wee hours of the morning and crashed into a taxi, killing three people: the Ferrari driver, the taxi driver and the taxi's female passenger.

Despite the public outcry that followed the accident, it seems that people are still driving recklessly.

Most audacious were the drivers of a Lamborghini and a Ferrari, who were caught on camera engaging in an illegal street race in the Marina Bay area. The incident occurred in broad daylight on Monday afternoon.
