SCDF officers praised for rushing out to help at accident site

SINGAPORE - An eye-witness praised officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for rushing out to help at the scene of an accident at Pasir Ris.

According to the resident, Geraldine, in an email to citizen journalism site, Stomp, the accident occurred at about 6.45pm on Aug 31.

A motorcycle had collided with a car at the "accident-prone junction", and the couple who were on the motorcyle were injured.

"The woman was flung quite a distance away from the motorcyle," said Geraldine.

Geraldine added that she was glad that SCDF officers from the nearby Pasir Ris Fire Post rushed out to help and "got the woman to the side of the road so as not to obstruct traffic".

The couple was injured, but conscious, and was taken away by an amulance soon after.
