COE up for all categories except small cars

SINGAPORE - Category A for cars below 1,600cc is the only category to see a drop in Certificate of Entitlement (COE) prices in this week's tender.

Ending at 4pm today, premiums for small cars saw a drop of 7.4 per cent to $63,000. This is down from $68,000 from two weeks ago.

In the last bidding that ended on Sept 5, Cat A was the only category that saw an increase from the previous bidding, while prices for the rest had dropped.

This time, COE for cars above 1,600cc in Cat B saw the biggest jump in prices - up 10.4 per cent - to $88,500. It had cost $80,191 a fortnight ago.

Premiums for the Open category, which is usually used for cars and is transferrable, rose to $89,990. This is up 2.3 per cent from last bidding's $87,999.

Prices for motorcycles, which stagnated at $1 in the final minutes of bidding, ended at $1,852 when the tender closed at 4pm. This is an increase of 2.8 per cent from $1,801.

Commercial vehicles in Cat C will now cost $57,809, up by a slight 0.8 per cent from $57,334.
