Recently, not a few showrooms have been revamped and launched, including Kia's. And to celebrate it, the local dealer has come up with two specials. Get a free body kit and sports rims with the purchase. of a Picanto, Rio and Cerato Forte. Or take the Sportage, Carens Elite, or Magentis Innovation and get a free premium leather upholstery.
Toyota also packs quite a comprehensive package. From $82,488 onwards, you can get a Camry with a free Intelli-Drive System (GPS, Bluetooth, reverse camera, DVD player, MP3).
Nissan's local authorised dealer also offers the Nissan Teana with immediate stock and registration. Book a Teana now, the company says, to get a free smart screen navigation system worth $1.500.
Champion Motors, Suzuki's authorised dealer here, is also offering the popular Swift from $47,900. Book a Swift or Swift Sport and you can select three free gifts such as a Garmin GPS device or 1st month paid installment with $400 insurance subsidy.
Opel is putting out the Zafira seven-seater MPV 1.8MTA at $76,888 with free first year insurance and three years' servicing.
On a more upscale note, Jaguar's local dealer, Malayan Motors, is offering $10,000 worth of Club 21 vouchres with every XJ6 3.0 LWB.
Porsche will pay for wear & tear with its new five-year free maintenance and warranty programme. It covers all servicing needs as well as maintenance and repair costs, including regular wear and tear. And it comes with all newly purchased Porsche models.
E 230 for the price of an E 200
Mercedes-Benz is dangling an upgrade offer with its E 230 (V6, 7G-Tronic seven-speed transmission). You'll receive guaranteed COE (Certificate of Entitlement), financial rebates worth $13,000 with a subsidised interest rate and savings of $22,000 from the complimentary upgrade. Limited time offer.
Best trade-in offer in town?
Audi is offering the A6 with an overtrade of $20,000. The Audi A6 Prestige Rewards scheme also lets you upgrade to 18-inch shoes and comes with a 1.98 per cent interest rate.
Land Rover is offering its Freelander 2 at $158,888, not including their "best trade-in offer" of course.
Best fuel consumption?
Peugeot is claiming - with an advertisement in the national paper - that its 107 (12v, 1,000cc, five-speed 2-Tronic transmission) is so fuel-efficient it'll take you a while before you will be back at the petrol station. The ad even came with a reminder on how to pump petrol, perhaps implying that it's not a thing you'll doing often. The claimed fuel consumption? 22 km/litre.
